Senior .NET Systems Architect
Carsten has been working with computers since the days of the first IBM XT PCs
and as a developer he has primarily been
working
with Visual Basic, but also Object Pascal, the pre-Delphi OO language from
Borland. Although analysis and development is where Carsten spends most of
his time, he also has experience in working as a Team and Project Leader.
He is fluent in English, German and Danish.
Besides working with software, Carsten also enjoys “playing around” with
hardware whenever he has the time. It gives him a better understanding of how it
all works.
These days Carsten works exclusively with .NET projects. He has more than
2 years experience working with the .NET Framework and Visual Studio .NET.
Carsten specializes in data access, primarily SQL Server, but also diverse
databases such as MySQL. Besides his passion for data access, he has also
spent numerous hours working with XML Web services, which is a new field which
particularly interests him.
Carsten is a Microsoft Visual Basic MVP four years running and he’s the
author of the following Apress™ books: “Database
Programming with Visual Basic .NET”, “Database
Programming with Visual Basic .NET, Second Edition”, and “Database
Programming with C#”. These books have been published, and currently
Carsten is working on the following two titles, to be published early 2003: “Enterprise
Development with Visual Studio .NET, UML, and MSF” and “Building
Web Services with Visual Basic .NET”.
